Uppsala has been confirmed as the host city for the Youth and Junior Bandy World Championships 2026. For the first time ever, the P17, P19 and F17 World Championships will be staged simultaneously in the same location. The tournaments will be held from 26–29 March 2026 at Serwenthallen.

Bringing three World Championship tournaments together at one venue is a new approach that strengthens the international position of youth bandy.

“Gathering three World Championship tournaments in one city is historic and an exciting step for the future of bandy. Thanks to the commitment of Uppsala BoIS and Uppsala Municipality, it has been possible to carry out this initiative in this way. It is an opportunity to grow as a player and to feel pride in the sport,” says Daniel Andersson, Secretary General of the Swedish Bandy Association.

Uppsala has a long tradition of bandy and major bandy events, most notably the Bandy Finals, which for more than 20 years were played at Studenternas IP. As the city now hosts three youth World Championships, a new chapter in Swedish bandy history is being written.

Memories and Community

“For us at Uppsala BoIS, this is something truly special. In everyday life, bandy is about volunteers, junior training sessions and keeping the ice open—and now we get to welcome the world’s best young players to our home ground. We want them to feel at home here, no matter which country they come from, and for the tournament to become a memory that strengthens both their love for the sport and the sense of community around it,” says Per Korpås, Chairman of Uppsala BoIS.

Sweden enters the championships with strong results behind them. The P19 and P17 national teams are reigning world champions after winning gold medals in Sandviken in January 2025, while the F17 national team will defend its title following its World Championship victory in Trollhättan in February the same year.
