When the Youth Bandy World Championships are held in Uppsala on 26–29 March, the Swedish Bandy Federation will join forces with UNICEF Sweden. The Swedish Bandy Federation is a member organization of UNICEF Sweden, and through this initiative the two organizations aim to highlight their shared vision and commitment to ensuring every child’s right to reach their full potential.

When the Youth Bandy World Championships take place in Uppsala on 26–29 March, the Swedish Bandy Federation will join forces with UNICEF Sweden. As a member organization of UNICEF Sweden, the Federation sees this initiative as an opportunity to demonstrate their common vision and work for the rights of all children and young people to reach their full potential.

UNICEF Sweden’s presence during the tournament will be visible through traditional rink-side branding, arena signage, and screen exposure. In addition, players will receive more information about UNICEF’s work for children’s rights in Sweden and around the world.

“Every child has the right to feel well, both physically and mentally. Sport plays an important role here and can make a real difference in children’s lives. I am very pleased and grateful for the collaboration with the Swedish Bandy Federation and for this opportunity. Being present at the Youth World Championships and together reminding everyone of the equal rights of all children and young people — not least the right to a meaningful leisure time — is truly valuable,” says Pernilla Baralt, Secretary General of UNICEF Sweden.

A Natural Presence in Our Arenas

Since 2021, the Swedish Bandy Federation has been a member organization of UNICEF Sweden. The membership provides an additional opportunity for the Federation to uphold and anchor its core values and to increase knowledge about children’s rights among both leaders and active participants.

“At the Swedish Bandy Federation, we stand behind the sporting ambitions of all children and young people. Whether they have found bandy for the sense of community and joy, or whether they dream of reaching the elite level, our mission is to create safe, inclusive and developmental environments. As a member organization of UNICEF Sweden, it is only natural for us to give space in our arenas to this message as well. Together with UNICEF, we are proud to clearly demonstrate that children’s and young people’s rights, opportunities and belief in the future are fundamental pillars of our values and of our entire organization,” says Pierre Roos, World Championship Project Manager at the Swedish Bandy Federation.
